 New Community Temple Church of God In Christ's U Turn 2 Jesus Substance Abuse Ministries
offers a safe and structured environment that promotes change in the individual.  Those
suffering from addiction will learn about the problem of addiction, the solution to
addiction, and the program of action that leads to change.  Out spiritual program
will help each individual to implement the solution into daily living.

The mission of UTURN2JESUS Substance Abuse Minstries is to provide services that assist people experiencing problems related to their own, or someone else's substance abuse. UTURN2JESUS Substance Abuse Ministry is committed to helping people satisfactorily resolve problems, accept Jesus in their lives, realize that Jesus is to solution to their problem or illness, and live healthier and more productive lives.

Location and Meeting Schedule

UTURN2JESUS Substance Abuse Ministries is located at the New Community "Temple" Church of God In Christ at 3615 Tyre Neck Road, Portsmouth, VA 23703. The ministry provides services for clients every Tuesday from 6:03 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. You do not have to be affiliated with New Community Temple Church of God In Christ to attend. In fact, you do not even have to be a Christian. All you need are four things: Acknowledge your condition; Open mindedness; A willingness to hear new ideas; and A willingness to try new things. Jesus can and will help you ..... the rest is up to you!

Goals of the Ministry

• To develop and maintain abstinence from all addictive substances.
• To help clients achieve a healthy self-awareness and acceptance.
• To develop the necessary skills that are part of a deliverance and victory process.
• To promote lifestyle changes that will support continued deliverance and victory.
• To improve spiritual, social, vocational, and psychological functioning in your life.
• To develop an awareness of relapse dynamics, and suggest ways of prevention.
• To improve the relationship of the member with their family and community.

It is our belief that the tools that are offered through self-help groups are effective in maintaining support and direction for continued deliverance and victory. Member commitment to involvement in church activities and self-help meetings is recommended.
